Players of the Week-3

Layton Vining – After seeing names on the rosters I called around to check in on a few of my new boys.  Layton was described as a yes sir / no sir kid that would do whatever is asked of him.  Layton comes to practice and works hard every day and has contributed to our team immediately.  Layton is one of our boys who could play a number of positions and is regularly thrown in at various times on both sides of the ball.  Due to playing Offensive Tackle he no doubt is playing against some of the biggest kids on the field and regularly battles with them during games.  Layton has lived up to his reputation and is becoming a key component to our team’s success this year.  I absolutely expect him to finish the year strong and play a major role in the success of next year’s freshman team.  Great job Layton!

Peyton Guidry – When I saw Peyton’s name on the roster I knew I was getting a big bull of a kid to help us with size on the line.  During our game on Saturday Peyton actually kept asking for the plays to come over his side.  There really isn’t a kid at this level that can compete with Peyton when he puts his mind to doing his job.  It’s exciting to see him grow and be successful on the field and continue to show his enthusiasm for this great game.  I believe this is also Peyton’s first year in football (correct me if I am wrong), which is amazing to see how well he has done in the trenches.  Keep working hard for us Peyton!

Jacob Spencer – Jacob is another one of our 2nd graders who has played a key role for us on the offensive line.  He anchors the left side of the line for me in a critical position protecting our backs and opening up holes for the QB keeps and dive plays.  Jacob never complains and wants to work hard at everything he does.  I truly see Jacob as one of the players who understands the absolute importance of playing the offensive line where he has been key to a number of our rushing TDs coming up the middle.  Great things are in store for Jacob as he continues his growth as a young man and dominance as a football player; on offense and defense for many years to come.  Keep it up Jacob!

Travis Cox – Travis excelled for us last year as a first year freshman player on the defensive line.  I trust him implicitly on the Offensive Line and like Layton will be matched up against some of the bigger and better kids in the league.  I know his love for the game is on defense, however, his selfless attitude has paid off in spades for us when we needed him most to bolster the O-Line.  Travis is also one of those players that plays multiple positions where we might need his help…and rarely ever disappoints.  He helps other kids on the line when we are substituting in and out, knows every position, and can do just about anything I ask.  Another great year Travis…it’s great fun to watch you play!
GREAT JOB DOLPHINS!!!
