Player of the week-6

Branson Bean – Branson is another one of our boys that never complains, argues, or does anything wrong on the football field.  He is always ready to go and is absolutely one of my Yes Sir boys.  He has come a long way since August and I know he has many years of great football ahead of him.  As with a number of players on our team Branson would probably be playing a different position if it wasn’t for our all-star line-up at the DE and LB positions.  I have had a number of coaches tell me that any one of our lineman (on offense and defense) would automatically make their team better and Branson falls into that category.  This is only the beginning for Branson as he will be really great next year for the Dolphins.  Great job Branson!

Dillon Jerding – In previous years I would work with a 2nd grader in the backfield to help develop a running game for the next year.  We started looking at Dillon as a running back, but quickly saw we needed help with our defensive backs especially at CB.  Dillon has been a great addition for us as a defensive back, and I know he will be a valuable asset for the Dolphins next year in the back field.  Like many of our players Dillon is a Yes Sir boy that takes care of his business at Corner every game.  We get to see him up close and personal from the sideline and truly get excited when we see him step up and make a play.  Our corners have realized that their value when not making a tackle comes in to play when stretching the offense out and setting up for a tackle for loss.  This is not lost on Dillon where he has done a great job for us this year at Corner Back.  Keep up the good work Dillon!

Sam Bacon – Since I consider Sam my fourth son, it will be hard to be objective when writing about him.  I am probably harder on Sam then I am for any other player we have on the team given I have seen what he can do when he is at his best.  His potential (any my expectations of him) to do great things on the football field is tremendous, which we have seen this year for a number of our games to the misfortune of our opponents.  Sam is best when he is in the backfield and cutting it outside for one of his signature break away runs…Of which we will need many for tonight.  When he is focused on the task at hand, few are better out of the backfield then he is.  He has been an extremely valuable asset for us on offense, defense, and special teams; which showed last week with a Kick-Off return TD in our first play-off game.  When he runs “mad” there are very few kids at the freshman level that can stop him, which we will continue to focus on tonight and into the Super Bowl.  Great job Sam at another incredible season; it sure is fun to watch you play.  Keep it up!
